Fantom Kiler (1998)

This is a porno/splatter flick about a masked killer going around bumping off the local beauties. We also learn that the victims have all been eyed up by a scummy Janitor (with a superb comedy mustache that would not be out of place on a 70s porn star), but is he the killer or just an innocent weirdo!...

You would be forgiven for thinking, by the sounds of that deep plot, that "Fantom Kiler" is a case of 'seen it all before'. Well not quite like this you haven't.

The killings are played out like a warped Playboy video shoot, where he poor unfortunate women are shown in various silly 'horror cliche' situations along the lines of the old "Oh dear my car has broken down in the middle of nowhere" type thing. In fact that's exactly what happens!
The girls all look like models and the makers use every dodgy trick in the book to get them naked before they are sliced and diced.
The first victim, for example, is walking through a misty wood (very studio bound) and gets her top snagged on a branch. "Oh no, my top has come off". Then she has to get under some barb wire "Oh dear, I cant bend under there, I shall have to remove my jeans"... Hey Presto! One naked bimbo!

Then, just to add even blatant bad taste, when the killer appears the woman looks longingly at him and drapes herself over him! Next thing it's Slasher City though and the nekkid lovely is sliced in xxx detail and with each slash she moans in pleasure! The killer rams the knife between her legs just as a finale! Political correctness is simply a thing to be ripped up and crushed under foot.

The killings go on (all with naked victims) and get even more unpleasant. One crazy shot has a close up of a victims vagina and arsehole as our killer slowly lines up his chisel! It's one for all the Family folks.
We need to have a head slowly sliced off and a mop handle rape just to lighten the mood!
And its all shot in porno, playboy model fashion. Go figure.

If it wasnt made in such a silly way (sometimes with outright dumb comedy) "Fantom Kiler" would be almost unwatchable. But even then silliness in this type of film seems deeply offensive anyway. The aspect ratio also goes all other place, going from widescreen to full screen then back again. Nothing is normal as far as this film goes it seems.
Looking for something different? Then here we are, but be warned....though it's utter garbage, the damn thing still manages to have a sick fascination.

Supposedly shot as an underground Polish film, rumours soon started circulating that in fact the whole thing was filmed in the UK!
Explicit reference has accused horror journo Trevor Barley, of the UK based 'Media Publications', as being the culprit and sure enough he was also exclusively selling the films on the 'MP' website!.
Basically it's just another dollop of madness to add to this films warped existence.

And believe it or not, this sucker has sequels!
